Our Bula Monyako Mission Centre is a registered NPO situated on the Holy Acre at Benoni Central Methodist Church and serves as an outward expression of the vision of Benoni Central to be an oasis to the community.
· 31 Staff members are the life-blood of Bula Monyako Mission Centre.
· 9 Volunteers also help with the many projects and programmes at Bula Monyako.
· Social Worker Kedibone Selahle and Manager Fridah Seokoma and oversee the day to day activities.

SOCIAL CONCERNS
150 FOOD PARCELS are packed by staff and volunteers each month for distribution to vulnerable families, including HIV affected and infected children and grandparents who are caring for AIDS orphans.
VCT CLINIC
Staffed by a registered Nursing Sister, the Clinic offers
HIV/Aids Testing
Pre and Post Test Counselling
Blood Pressure and Diabetes testing
Referrals to clinics for further treatment
Monthly Education and Prevention Programmes
SUPPORT GROUPS
AIDS SUPPORT GROUP
People living with HIV/AIDS meet twice a month to share experiences and challenges and improve their coping skills. Group members are given an opportunity to learn new skills including sewing and flower arranging, which are not only therapeutic but also give them an opportunity to earn extra income.
ELDERLY SUPPORT GROUP
The group meet for physical exercise classes and also share experiences and challenges, with the focus on issues faced by the elderly.
ORPHANED AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN’S SUPPORT GROUP
Teens between 15 and 18 speak about peer experiences and support each other about the challenges faced living in foster care and having no parents. This is a platform where they discuss issues encountered in their daily lives. They also support and help one another with school work.
PEER COUNSELLING GROUP
A trained group of counsellors work in the primary and secondary schools and colleges, focusing on HIV/AIDS education and prevention and dealing with issues faced by young people.
A new focus is approaching workers in factories in the greater Benoni area where volunteers are offered an HIV/AIDS test and given education and counselling.
SOCIAL WORK SERVICES
Offer counselling services including family reunification, bereavement, family issues, trauma as well as couples counselling.
Other services include repatriation, finding accommodation for the homeless and assisting with Identity Documents and Birth Certificates.
HOME BASED CARE
Trained Bula Care Workers assist terminally ill patients with bathing, house-keeping, meals and adherence to medical treatment. They also link bed-ridden patients with care homes.
COMPUTER CLASSES
A three-month course on basic computer skills is offered at no charge.
Classes are held at the Bula Monyako mission centre in Cranbourne Avenue.
